Government Launches Affordable Milk, Eggs, and Meat Sales in Sirajganj

Sirajganj: The government has initiated the sale of milk, eggs, and meat at affordable prices in Sirajganj district to commemorate the holy month of Ramadan. This initiative aims to provide essential food items at fair prices to the local population.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Fisheries and Livestock Ministry has begun selling these products from trucks at two strategic locations: the Kazipur intersection and in front of the Sadar Upazila Livestock Office. This effort is being supported by the National Development Programme to ensure widespread access to these staple products during the festive month.

District Livestock Officer AKM Anowarul Haque officially inaugurated the month-long sales activities at the District Livestock Office. The inaugural event was attended by Additional Livestock Officer Md Abdur Razzak and Sadar Upazila Livestock Officer Md Alamgir Hossain, among others.

As part of this program, beef is available at Taka 680 per kilogram, milk at Taka 70 per liter, eggs at Taka 9 per piece, and Matha or Ghol at Taka 90 per liter. This pricing strategy is designed to make these essential items more accessible and affordable for the community during Ramadan.
