Korean Ambassador Engages with Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor on Academic and Entrepreneurial Initiatives

Dhaka: South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Park Young-sik met Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Niaz Ahmed Khan at the latter's office today. During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interests, especially the possibilities of introducing an undergraduate program on Korean Language at DU.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, they also discussed the progress of the ongoing pilot project titled 'Capacity Building of Universities in Bangladesh to Promote Youth Entrepreneurship' at DU with financial assistance from KOICA. The ambassador stressed the need for promoting entrepreneurs at the university level to build a developed Bangladesh. He emphasized strengthening regional cooperation to maintain social stability, peace, and harmony in South Asia.

Prof. Niaz Ahmed Khan apprised the Ambassador of the brief history of Dhaka University and its academic and research activities. He remarked on the longstanding friendly ties between Bangladesh and Korea and acknowledged Korea's contributions to the overall socio-economic development of Bangladesh. He expressed hope that this bilateral relationship will be further strengthened in the days to come.
