Dhaka: Five more second round matches of the Ruchi 36th National Women’s Handball competition were held at the Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the capital today. The event saw notable performances from various district sports associations competing for advancement.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the matches were fiercely contested with Panchagarh District Sports Association (DSA) triumphing over Jamalpur DSA with a score of 35-21, having secured a strong lead in the first half with 21-9. Jahangirnagar University showcased their prowess by defeating Narail DSA, ending the match at 17-10 after a commanding first-half lead of 11-3.
In another match, Jashore DSA dominated Bogra DSA with an impressive 31-5 victory, having a significant first-half advantage of 21-2. Meanwhile, Jamalpur DSA managed to overpower Jahangirnagar University, concluding the game at 24-11, with an 11-6 lead in the first half. Panchagarh also secured a win against Naogaon DSA, finishing the match 29-11 after leading 14-6 in the initial half.
The competition features a total of nine teams, divided into two groups, competing in the second round. The tournament continues to highlight the skill and competitive spirit of the participating teams.
