Maheshpur: Members of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested nine individuals, including four women and two children, while they were trying to illegally enter India through the Maheshpur border in the district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a special patrol team led by Habildar Sahor Ali conducted a raid at the Kusumpur border outpost and apprehended Rashed Mia, 20, Probas, 45, Prosenjit, 26, along with four women and two children. The operation was part of BGB-58, and the arrest was officially announced by Assistant Director Munshi Imdadur Rahman through a press release.
Officer-in-Charge Sazzadur Rahman confirmed that the detained women and children have been sent to the Jashore Justice and Daycare Centre. Legal measures are being pursued against the remaining three individuals, who are in custody.
In a related operation, another BGB team detained six people, including two women and two children, from the Loraighat border outpost under Moheshpur upazila. These actions reflect ongoing efforts to manage border security and prevent illegal crossings.
