Dhaka: Six individuals, including five former ministers, have been shown arrested in connection with separate cases filed at various police stations across the capital. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Imran Ahammed issued the orders following the pleas of the respective investigation officers.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, former social welfare minister Dr. Dipu Moni has been shown arrested in a case related to the killing of Jubo Dal leader Shamim, filed at Paltan Police Station. Meanwhile, former information minister Hasanul Haque Inu and former law minister Anisul Huq have been shown arrested in connection with the Amir Hossain killing case, filed at Uttara West Police Station.
In a separate incident, former shipping minister Shajahan Khan and his son, the former chairman of Madaripur Sadar upazila, Asibur Rahman Khan, have been shown arrested concerning the murder case of Rafikul Islam in Badda. Anisul Huq has also been shown arrested in an additional case involving the attempted murder of BNP
activist Hasan Mahmud, filed at Shahjahanpur Police Station in the capital.
The court has also ordered the arrest of former state minister for industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder in connection with the murder case of teenager Mizanur Rahman, lodged at Mirpur Model Police Station in the capital.
