Dhaka: Bangladesh’s remittance inflow has witnessed 7.1 percent year-on-year growth, reaching $2.54 billion in the first 28 days of June. During the same period last year, the country’s remittance inflow stood at $2.37 billion.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the latest data from Bangladesh Bank (BB) reveals that expatriates have sent remittances totaling $30 billion during the period from July 2024 to 28 June 2025 of the current fiscal year. This amount was only $23.75 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Remittances have therefore increased by 26.5 percent over the past fiscal year, indicating a significant boost in the money sent back home by expatriates. This growth in remittance inflow is considered crucial for the country’s economy, providing much-needed foreign currency reserves.
