Dhaka: RANCON Auto Industries Ltd. has achieved a major milestone with the official launch of the Bangladeshi-manufactured Mitsubishi Xpander. The Mitsubishi Xpander is a seven-seater family SUV powered by a 1.5-liter MIVEC engine, combining Japanese reliability with local innovation. The launch event was attended by SAIDA Shinichi, Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, as the chief guest, along with Romo Rouf Chowdhury, Group Managing Director of RANCON Holdings, and Farhana Karim, Managing Director.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was also attended by senior officials from Mitsubishi Motors, dignitaries, and prominent figures from both the public and private sectors. This launch marks a significant milestone in RANCON’s vision to transform Bangladesh into a global manufacturing hub. The RANCON Industrial Park, located on a 52-acre site, manufactures for globally recognized brands such as Mitsubishi, Suzuki two-wheelers, Mercedes-Benz bus chassis, Proton, JAC, LG, and Toshiba.
Japanese Ambassador SAIDA Shinichi expressed admiration for the strategic partnership between Bangladesh and Japan. He stated that the launch symbolizes deeper technical cooperation and bilateral friendship. Takao Kato, CEO of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, praised the partnership between Mitsubishi and RANCON, emphasizing the positive response Xpander has received across the ASEAN region.
Yutaka Yano, Division General Manager of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, highlighted the Japanese compliance maintained throughout the production process. He noted that RANCON Auto Industries Limited utilizes state-of-the-art facilities and strict quality control, ensuring the Xpander meets global standards. The event was hosted by celebrities and influencers, including Siam Ahmed, the official Brand Ambassador for Mitsubishi Motors Bangladesh.
