Khulna: The English Discipline emerged victorious in the Inter-Discipline Cricket Tournament-2026 at Khulna University (KU), overcoming the Chemistry Discipline by a margin of 15 runs in a thrilling final held at the university’s central playground on Tuesday.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the English team set a competitive target by scoring 108 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, the Chemistry Discipline managed to score only 93 runs, also losing eight wickets in the process. The standout performances of the tournament included Tanvir Hossain being named Man of the Final for his impressive contributions. Mehedi Masud was awarded both Man of the Tournament and the highest run-scorer titles, showcasing his exceptional skills throughout the competition. Meanwhile, Md Ashikur Rahman from the Physics Discipline distinguished himself as the highest wicket-taker, claiming 11 wickets.
The prize-giving ceremony was graced by the presence of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Rezaul Karim, who commended the teams and emphasized the importance of sports in fostering unity and harmony among students on campus.
