Energy Minister Calls for Business Cooperation to Ensure Uninterrupted Power Supply During Peak Seasons

Dhaka: Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmood Tuku today announced that the government’s plans for ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply during the summer and irrigation season will require the cooperation of business leaders across the nation.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Minister Tuku emphasized the need for collective efforts in electricity and energy conservation at a views exchange meeting with business organization representatives at Biddut Bhaban’s Bijoy Hall. He urged businesses to adopt energy-efficient equipment and practices to help maintain a consistent power supply during peak demand periods.



State Minister for Textiles and Jute Md Shariful Alam and State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit were also in attendance at the meeting. The minister highlighted that the government’s decisions are initially set for a three-month period, with the possibility of adjustments based on discussions with business leaders leading up to Eid-ul-Azha.



Business representatives at the meeting expressed their willingness to comply with government directives and presented their recommendations and demands. The minister assured them that their proposals would be considered and discussed further. He also noted that following cabinet decisions, government institutions have already initiated various measures to address the power supply situation.
