Efforts to repatriate Rohingya still on: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister and Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader has said the government is taking various initiatives to repatriate the Rohingyas keeping an eye on the recent upheaval in Myanmar and its aftermath.

The senior cabinet member is hopeful that the international community, realizing the depth of the situation, will expedite ongoing efforts to repatriate the ‘forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals’, as Bangladesh officially describes the Rohingyas who have taken refuge in Bangladesh.

He also posed a question to the international community: “How long will Bangladesh carry this burden?”

A group is still trying to create suspicion about the corona vaccine. Urging people not to listen to them, Quader said there was no negative response to the vaccine, so he urged everyone to come forward to take the vaccine.

Quader called for holding rallies, delegates’ meetings and public relations programs on the occasion of the golden jubilee of independence and the Mujib centennial at the initiative of the Awami League from February 15.

He also called upon the allied organizations to carry out the announced programs in line with the main party in carrying out these programs.
