Dhaka: Dhaka University (DU) is set to commemorate its 104th founding anniversary with a series of events centered around the theme “Dhaka University in Building an Inclusive and Equitable Society”. The celebrations are scheduled to take place tomorrow, as announced in a press release today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan will inaugurate the daylong program as the chief guest at Payra Chattar, located in front of the university’s Teacher-Student Center (TSC), at 10 am. The festivities will begin with a gathering at Smriti Chirantan Chatwar, where teachers, students, officers, and employees of the university will assemble at 9:30 am, led by the VC. The group will then proceed in a colorful procession to Payra Chatwar in front of the TSC.

The inaugural ceremony will feature the hoisting of national, DU, and hall flags, the release of pigeons and balloons, and a cake-cutting ceremony on the premises of Payra Chattar. Following the inauguration, a discussion session will be held at the TSC Auditorium at 10:30 am, focusing on the anniversary’s theme. Professor Dr. S M A Faiz, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), will deliver the keynote address, with the session chaired by the Vice-Chancellor.
