Dhaka: The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken significant action against traffic rule violations, filing 2,477 cases against motor vehicles in a single day across the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a media release from the DMP detailed that these cases were filed and fines collected on Tuesday, June 24, as part of the department’s regular enforcement efforts against traffic offenders. Talebur Rahman, the deputy commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP, reported that a total of 335 vehicles were impounded and 86 vehicles were towed due to poor driving practices.
The statement emphasized that these enforcement drives will continue with the aim of restoring order on the city streets. The DMP is actively working to streamline the traffic system in the capital to facilitate easier movement for city residents.
