Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman have sent fruits from Bangladesh to Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani. The gesture reflects a token of goodwill and gratitude towards the leaders of Qatar.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Qatar’s Foreign Affairs Ministry’s Director of the Protocol Department, Ibrahim Yousif Abdullah Fakhro, received the seasonal fruits in Doha at 3pm BST today. This act of diplomacy underscores the cordial ties and mutual respect shared between the two nations, facilitated by the BNP leadership.
The gift was handed over in the presence of BNP Chairperson Advisory Council member Dr. Enamul Haque Chowdhury, Bangladesh Ambassador to Qatar Mohammad Nazrul Islam, and Qatar BNP General Secretary Shariful Haque Saju. The occasion was marked by expressions of appreciation for Qatar’s Emir, who had previously sent a special air ambulance to facilitate Khaleda Zia’s journey to London for medical treatment.
On June 23, Mymensingh Divisional BNP Organizing Secretary Shariful Alam coordinated the arrangements for sending the fruits from Dhaka Airport. This initiative was carried out on behalf of the BNP chairperson and acting chairman, highlighting the ongoing diplomatic engagement between Bangladesh and Qatar.
