Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali today called upon all concerned to use minimum force to maintain the law and order in any emergency situation. “We’re not the British police. We’re the people’s police. Therefore, we have to learn various techniques of using minimum force to maintain the law and order in any emergency situation,” he said.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Commissioner Ali made these remarks while inspecting a three-day training on Public Order Management that commenced on Sunday at the Rajarbagh Police Lines. The DMP chief interacted with the trainees and trainers, providing essential guidance and instruction on how to apply the training effectively in real-life scenarios.

The training involves a total of 150 police personnel from various units of the DMP. Throughout the sessions, participants are being trained in techniques to employ minimum force while addressing adverse situations. Senior officers from various ranks of the Police Headquarters and DMP were present during the sessions to oversee the proceedings and ensure the effective transfer of knowledge.

The emphasis on minimal force highlights the DMP’s commitment to being a people’s police force, focusing on the safety and security of the public while maintaining order. The training aims to enhance the skills of police personnel in handling emergencies with precision and care.
