Dhaka: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on all meetings, assemblies, processions, sit-ins, human chains, and mass gatherings in and around the Bangladesh Secretariat and the official residence of the Chief Adviser, Jamuna, citing public order and security concerns.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the restriction is enforced under Section 29 of the DMP Ordinance and will take effect from Monday, January 5, 2026, until further notice, as stated in a DMP press release today.
The ban will cover the areas between Hotel InterContinental Crossing, Kakrail Mosque Crossing, Officers Club Crossing, and Mintu Road Crossing.
