Chattogram: The district administration and Department of Livestock Services (DLS) have initiated the sale of milk, eggs, meat, and fish at affordable prices in the port city. Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram, Farida Khanom, inaugurated the program as the chief guest at the city’s Kotwali area.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, liquid milk is being sold at Tk 80 per litre, beef at Tk 600 per kg, mutton at Tk 900 per kg, dressed broiler at Tk 250 per kg, and per piece egg at Tk 9.17. The initiative will continue throughout the month of Ramadan to ease the financial burden on residents.
Additionally, the Market Monitoring Taskforce of Chattogram District Administration conducted a campaign and mobile court in Riazuddin Bazar to maintain stable prices of essential commodities during Ramadan. Special surveillance was conducted in shops selling daily necessities, with warnings issued against the hoarding of goods. Assistant Director of the Department of Consumer Rights Protection, Md. Anisur Rahman, and journalists from various media outlets were present at the event.
