Doha: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today addressed students at Qatar University, declaring the current generation as the most powerful in human history. During his inspirational speech, Prof Yunus focused on his “Three Zero” theory, urging young people to embrace their potential and envision a transformative future.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prof Yunus described the youth as “super human beings,” likening them to supermen and superwomen due to their unique circumstances of birth in this era. He emphasized their inherited knowledge and control over technology, equating them to genies with the power to shape the future.

The lecture, titled “Building A World of Three Zeros: Zero Net Carbon Emission, Zero Wealth Concentration and Zero Unemployment,” took place at Qatar University’s B239 auditorium. Prof Yunus encouraged students to become ‘three-zero persons’, capable of achieving dreams faster than any previous generation. He urged them to question, debate, and imagine transformative possibilities.

Prof Yunus advised against contributing to wealth concentration and instead inspired students to create a new, sustainable world. He compared the planet to a spaceship, emphasizing the responsibility of the youth as pilots rather than passengers.

The Nobel Peace Prize laureate shared his vision of a new economic system that prioritizes environmental protection and the eradication of poverty and unemployment. He stressed the importance of imagination in achieving these goals, advocating for the creation of social fictions to envision a desirable future world.

Prof Yunus also highlighted the need for lifestyle changes to prevent environmental disasters, calling for a departure from the self-destructive path of current civilization. His address concluded with a call to protect the planet and build a new, sustainable civilization.

The event, which included an honorary award for Prof Yunus’s contributions to global humanity, was attended by Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain, Energy Adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan, and other notable figures.
