Chattogram: A tragic road accident in Patiya upazila claimed the life of a bank official, Md Nayan, 27, and left his friend, Robin, 25, injured, as confirmed by police and hospital sources.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred around 5:30 am at Fakira Mosque area of Jiri Union. Md Nayan and Robin were on their way home after visiting the Maizbhandar Darbar Sharif shrine when their speeding motorbike lost control and crashed into a roadside tree.
A hospital source revealed that Md Nayan, an official of the Islami Bank, died instantly at the scene. Meanwhile, Robin, the son of Mujibur Rahman from Ward No. 7 of Ashiya Union, sustained serious injuries and has been admitted to Patiya Private Hospital Severn for treatment.
