Dhaka:Cristiano Ronaldo acknowledged that he contemplated retiring from international football after Portugal's World Cup exit, amid criticism from some in Portugal who believe he should leave the national team.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the 41-year-old forward is set to make his 234th appearance for Portugal against Wales in the Nations League, as confirmed by coach Jorge Jesus. Despite the criticism, Ronaldo believes he can still contribute to the team.
Ronaldo revealed that he discussed his future with Portugal's president and coach Jorge Jesus, who previously guided him at Saudi club Al-Nassr. He remains confident in his ability to help the national team achieve its goals and plans to retire when he feels he can no longer contribute.
