New York:United Nations Headquarters: Prime Minister Tarique Rahman of Bangladesh and his Pakistani counterpart Shehbaz Sharif engaged in constructive discussions on Thursday, focusing on issues of mutual interest, regional and international developments, and potential areas of cooperation for the welfare of their countries' peoples.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the bilateral meeting took place on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. A release from the Prime Minister's Press Wing highlighted that the two leaders explored various aspects of Bangladesh-Pakistan relations, emphasizing the advancement of ties based on mutual respect, understanding, and cooperation.
Both prime ministers underscored the significance of regular communication and dialogue on issues of common interest. The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, Foreign Minister Dr Khalilur Rahman, State Minister Humaiun Kobir, and Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Irene Khan. Meanwhile, the Pakistani delegation included Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and other senior officials.
