Dhaka: The National Consensus Commission (NCC) today conducted dialogues with Khilafat Majlis and Bangladesh Labour Party to forge agreement on reform proposals. This engagement marked the second day of discussions with various political parties held at the LD Hall of the National Parliament Building, as stated in a press release issued today.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was led by NCC Vice President Professor Ali Riaz, with participation from members Safar Raj Hossain, Justice SM Emdadul Hoque, Dr Iftekheruzzaman, Dr Badiul Alam Mazumder, and Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Monir Haider. The Khilafat Majlis delegation, consisting of eight members, was led by Secretary General Ahmad Abdul Kader, while the 13-member Bangladesh Labour Party delegation was headed by Chairman Mostafizur Rahman Iran.

The NCC’s ongoing dialogue series began on March 20, with an initial meeting involving the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). These efforts are part of a broader strategy to achieve national consensus on reform commission recommendations through stakeholder consultations. The Commission, under the chairmanship of interim government’s Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, commenced its activities on February 15.
