Chief Whip Confident in Ensuring Lively and Participatory Jatiya Sangsad Session

Savar: Chief Whip of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS), M Nurul Islam, announced today that the forthcoming national parliament session will be lively, effective, and participatory. He emphasized the collaborative role of the government and the opposition in fostering national development through constructive discussions and exchanges of views.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the chief whip made these remarks to journalists after paying tribute at the National Martyr’s Memorial in Savar. During the tribute, JS whips, including Alhaz M GK Gaus, Rakibul Islam, Mia Nuruddin Ahmed Apu, M Ruhul Quddus Talukder Dulu, M Akhtaruzzaman Mia, and ABM Ashraf Uddin, also honored the martyrs by laying floral wreaths, observing silence, and praying for the eternal peace of those who sacrificed their lives in the war of independence.



Following the tribute, M Nurul Islam signed the visitor’s book at the National Martyr’s Memorial. He noted that after a prolonged 17-year struggle, the BNP formed the government with a two-thirds majority in the 13th national polls. The chief whip underscored the government’s commitment to working for the people’s welfare in line with the electoral manifesto and the 31-point agenda announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.



Preparations are underway to ensure the effectiveness and engagement of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad session, which is set to commence on March 12. The chief whip expressed optimism that the opposition would actively contribute to advancing the country’s development initiatives through constructive dialogues and opinions in the Jatiya Sangsad.



He further mentioned the necessity of presenting ordinances issued by the president during the interim government at the first session of the Jatiya Sangsad, highlighting the constitutional requirement to endorse these ordinances within 30 days. The Jatiya Sangsad secretariat has made necessary arrangements to facilitate this process.



The announcement was attended by the Jatiya Sangsad secretariat’s additional secretary, relevant officials, as well as sergeant at arms and media personnel.
