DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Police Commissioner Md. Masud Karim emphasized the critical need for police officers to change their behavior and offer the services people expect in order to earn public trust.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Karim made these remarks during a view-exchange meeting organized by the police, students, public, and respected citizens under the jurisdiction of Hatirjheel police station. The meeting took place at a local community center in Madhubagh. Karim highlighted that altering police behavior is essential for gaining the trust of the people. He stated that if individuals seeking services leave police stations satisfied, it signifies successful policing and indicates that police stations have become more people-friendly.

Karim also urged city residents to assist the police in curbing crime and maintaining law and order. He called on the community to collaborate with law enforcement to address social issues such as drug abuse, extortion, juvenile gangs, and robbery. The meeting was presided over by Tejgaon Division Deputy Police Commissioner Mohammad Ruhul Kabir Khan, with police officers from various ranks, leaders of political, social, professional, and religious organizations, as well as heads of educational institutions and student movement leaders in attendance.
