Dhaka: A case has been filed against Ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and 12 others for the alleged intrusion of the Gulshan residence of National Democratic Movement (NDM) Chairman Bobby Hajjaj with the intent to kill him. The legal action was initiated by Jabedur Rahman Jony, the Office Secretary of the NDM, on behalf of Bobby Hajjaj.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sub-Inspector Moktar Hossain of the General Recording Office (GRO) at Gulshan Thana confirmed that a first information report (FIR) was submitted to the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman. The court has ordered the officer-in-charge of Gulshan Thana to provide a report on the matter by October 9.

The individuals accused in the case include former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former Road and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, former Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury, among others, including a controversial businessman and several political activists. The FIR alleges a conspiracy against anti-fascist leaders like Bobby Hajjaj and other prominent figures who opposed Sheikh Hasina’s government.

Previously, Bobby Hajjaj had filed a case with the International Crimes Tribunal and a writ petition with the High Court, seeking investigations into corruption involving members of the Sheikh family. He has been vocal about demanding the trial of Sheikh Hasina through public protests and media appearances.

The FIR also states that Sheikh Hasina and Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury made derogatory comments about Bobby Hajjaj, and Siddiqui Nazmul Alam allegedly threatened him with revenge. Furthermore, it claims that businessman Saiful Alam financed efforts to destabilize the country, with coordination from other accused individuals to harm key figures opposing the former government.

The alleged plan involved Mostafa Al Nafiz and Md Nur, who reportedly entered Bobby Hajjaj’s residence on September 6 with the intent to kill him. The house guards detained Nur, who allegedly confessed that Sheikh Hasina instructed Mostafa Al Nafiz to execute the attack, potentially involving stabbing or bombing Hajjaj’s vehicle. The plan was reportedly funded by businessman S Alam.
