Mirpur cantonment: The Capstone Course 2026/2, a three-week strategic leadership programme organised by the National Defence College (NDC) at Mirpur Cantonment, concluded here today. Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest and distributed certificates among the Capstone Fellows, as stated in a press release by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 39 fellows, including parliamentarians, senior military officers, academics, senior doctors, senior representatives of government and non-government organisations, diplomats, and corporate leaders, participated in the course held from August 2 to 20. General Waker-Uz-Zaman, speaking on the occasion, congratulated the fellows on successfully completing the course and urged them to uphold their constitutional responsibilities, strengthen national security, and work for the sustainable development of Bangladesh.
NDC Commandant Lieutenant General Md Faizur Rahman emphasized the importance of informed dialogue and consensus-building on issues of national importance. He noted the active, thoughtful, and respectful engagement of the fellows throughout the course, which broadened strategic understanding and strengthened a cross-sector national leadership network.
The Capstone Course is an important NDC programme designed to enhance strategic awareness, foster critical thinking, promote interdisciplinary cooperation, and develop a shared understanding of national security and development issues. Senior military and civil officials, NDC faculty and staff, and dignitaries from the Armed Forces and other national institutions attended the closing ceremony, the ISPR added.
