Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today emphasized the importance of establishing a financial system that enables every individual to become an entrepreneur rather than merely seeking employment. “Human beings are not born to do jobs; they are born to be entrepreneurs. Our financial system should be built in such a way that everyone gets the chance to become an entrepreneur,” he stated.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Yunus made these remarks during a function that marked the inauguration of the new building (Bhaban-2) of the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) at Khilji Road in the city’s Mohammadpur area. He highlighted the shifting aspirations of the younger generation, noting that rural youths are now more aware, informed, and imaginative. He urged for the creation of a financial and social environment that allows these individuals to launch their own ventures, either independently or through institutions.

The Chief Adviser proposed a framework where people can initiate their own businesses and, if desired, join as investors, thereby facilitating a transformative change. He asserted that in such an environment, individuals can function as organizations or proceed as solo entrepreneurs. They could also gather investment and manage initiatives within their localities.

Professor Yunus expressed his belief in progress, acknowledging that experimentation is essential to discern what strategies are effective. He noted that hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs have already emerged, many of whom are collaborating in teams. He concluded by stating that it is possible to expand and capitalize on this entrepreneurial experience.
