Chattogram: A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested a bus driver named Rezaul Karim, 35, with 19 bottles of foreign liquor in Hathazari last night. ARM Mozaffar Hossain, the Assistant Director of RAB-7 (Media), confirmed the arrest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the arrest took place around 6:30 pm on Sunday evening in the Abbasiyar Pool area of Hathazari following a tip-off. Rezaul Karim is the son of Jasim Uddin from the Belchhari area of Matiranga upazila in Khagrachhari.
On receiving information, Mozaffar Hossain stated that a temporary check post was established around 6:30 pm on Sunday to intercept drug dealers traveling from Khagrachhari to Chattogram. The bus was suspected of carrying foreign liquor. The RAB members discovered 19 bottles of foreign liquor hidden in a box on the left side of the bus. The arrested individual has been handed over to Hathazari Police Station for further investigation.
