Barishal:Three teenage friends lost their lives when a passenger bus collided with their motorcycle in Wazirpur upazila of Barishal on Monday evening. According to United News of Bangladesh, the victims were identified as Sourav Dhali, 14, the son of Kabir Dhali from Atipara village; Tawhid Islam, 13, from the same village; and Mostakin, 14, the son of Monir Hossain from the neighboring Dhamshar village. All three were students preparing for their Secondary School Certificate exams at Atipara Secondary School. Wazirpur Model Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Faruk Hossain reported that the accident occurred around 630 p.m. when the trio went out for a motorcycle ride. A Dhaka-bound bus from Suravi Paribahan struck their vehicle in the Atipara area, resulting in the immediate deaths of all three teenagers. Upon receiving the news, firefighters from Wazirpur Fire Service and police officers arrived at the scene to recover the bodies. While the police were able to seize the bus involved in the accident , the driver and other staff members fled the scene. The collision caused a temporary suspension of vehicular movement on the highway for about thirty minutes, after which police managed to restore normal traffic flow. Inspector Faruk mentioned that further legal proceedings regarding the incident are underway.
