Mountain View:A high-level ministerial delegation from Bangladesh met with senior Google executives at the company's headquarters in Mountain View, California, to explore potential cooperation in various technological fields.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the discussions revolved around modernizing education, artificial intelligence, digital skills enhancement, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and responsible technology use. The delegation was led by Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, the Prime Minister's Adviser on Finance and Planning, and included several key government officials such as State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam and State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Boby Hajjaj.
The Google team, led by Divya Jani, Vice President of Strategy and Operations for Google for Education, included executives and specialists like Mara Ritucci and Abu Saleh. The meeting emphasized the use of technology and AI to improve Bangladesh's education system, enhance teacher capabilities, and boost student learning outcomes.
Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir highlighted the need to link education, technology, and skills with employment and sustainable economic development. Shama Obaed stressed the importance of a long-term partnership with Google for skills development and institutional capacity-building. Boby Hajjaj outlined priorities for modernizing primary education through curriculum development, teacher training, and technology-enabled learning.
The talks also considered the development of an integrated digital education ecosystem, which would include systems for learning and school management, student assessment, and technology-based school monitoring. Additionally, the potential for cooperation in AI-supported teacher training and digital safety was discussed.
The Bangladeshi officials underscored opportunities for collaboration in AI, virtual learning, and cloud computing, as well as promoting Bangla-language AI capabilities and Bangladeshi culture globally. The meeting concluded with an interest in forming working groups to identify priority initiatives and establish measurable areas of cooperation.
