Dhaka: The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) and the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) successfully concluded a three-day joint training workshop aimed at boosting skill development in the capital market. The training program, titled “Basic Orientation of Securities Market Operation,” was organized by the DSE Training Academy, as per a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event took place from November 9 to 11, 2025, and involved participants from BSEC at the level of Assistant Director/equivalent and PO/equivalent. The closing ceremony featured notable attendees, including Dr. Md. Asifur Rahman, DSE’s Chief Technology Officer and Managing Director (In-charge); Md. Hossain Khan, BSEC Additional Director; and Syed Al Amin Rahman, DSE Training Academy Deputy General Manager.
Dr. Asifur Rahman discussed the insights participants gained into DSE’s activities, technological capabilities, and service structure during the training. He emphasized the high quality of DSE’s infrastructure, highlighting that their Order Management System, surveillance system, and IT services meet international standards. Dr. Rahman pointed out the system’s reliability, noting that DSE has experienced no service disruptions over the past five to six years, which he attributed to the organization’s technological expertise and teamwork. He reassured attendees of DSE’s ongoing efforts to maintain stability in the capital market.
Md. Hossain Khan emphasized the cooperative relationship between BSEC and DSE, describing it as sincere and collaborative. He noted that the training provided an opportunity for mutual experience and knowledge exchange. Khan shared the broader vision for market participants, emphasizing the primary goal of ensuring the market’s sustainable development.
The workshop offered comprehensive coverage of capital market operations. The first day focused on the market’s regulatory structure, stock market operations, and its role and growth. Subsequent sessions featured presentations from various DSE departmental heads on their activities. On the final day, participants visited several DSE departments and toured a brokerage house.
