Bourses extend gaining streak

Country’s both bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), today closed trading extending the gaining streak.

At DSE, the broad index, DSEX settled at 5,508.27 points with a gain of 81.44 points or 1.50 percent. Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went up by 38.76 points and 16.67 points to settle at 2,108.16 points and 1,245.75 points respectively.

On the other hand, DSE’s turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 8339.449 million from Taka 6180.040 million in the previous session.

Gainers took lead over losers as out of 233 issues traded, 233 securities gained price while 44 declined and 233 remained unchanged.

The top 10 gainers were Peninsula, Lanka Bangla Finance, EGEN, Anwar Galv, Zahin Textile, ILFSL, Apolo Ispat, FASFIN, KBPPWBIL and GSP Finance.

BATBC topped the turnover chart followed by BEXIMCO, BXPHARMA, ROBI, LANKABANGLA Finance and Summit Power.

The 10 top losers were Padma Life, Sonali Ansh, Eastern Insurance, Shyampur Sugar, Zeal Bangla, Miracle Industries, BANGAS, RECKITTBEN, National Life Insurance and MI Cement.

On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed trading at green extending the gaining streak of previous session.

CSCX and CASPI rose to 196.08 points and 329.06 points to stand at 9,656.22 points and 16,016.09 points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 1.19 crore shares and mutual funds of 240 companies were traded, of which 168 issues advanced while 27 declined and 46 issues remained unchanged.
