Bobby Hajjaj Advocates for Greater Female Participation in Sports and Culture

Dhaka:State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj has urged for increased participation of girls in sports and cultural activities alongside their academic pursuits, emphasizing the potential of Bangladeshi women to excel on the international stage.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Hajjaj made these remarks during the annual cultural and prize-giving ceremony at Lalmatia Girls High School and College. He highlighted the importance of educational institutions providing a conducive environment for girls to engage in sports, stating that girls should have opportunities in various sports such as chess, badminton, football, and cricket.

The State Minister encouraged students to communicate any deficiencies in sports facilities, such as playgrounds or equipment, assuring them of comprehensive support. He emphasized the government's commitment to developing the skills and leadership of female students in education, sports, and culture.

Hajjaj also spoke on the need for collaborative efforts by the government, teachers, and guardians to modernize Lalmatia Girls High School and College. The event was presided over by the school's principal, Mohammad Kamruzzaman, with Governing Body Chairperson Runa Laila Runa as the special guest. Teachers, students, and guardians attended the ceremony.
