Dhaka: The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has submitted its proposal to the Police Administration Reform Commission. BNP Chairperson’s advisory council member SM Zahurul Islam presented the proposals, on behalf of the party, to police reform commission chairman Safar Raz Hossain at the International Mother Language Institute here, said BNP media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BNP standing committee member Hafiz Uddin Ahmed is leading the committee formed by BNP to address police administration reform. The interim government has established the police reform commission, which is expected to deliver its comprehensive reform report to Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus by December 31.
Earlier, on November 26, BNP also submitted its proposal to the constitution reform commission. This proposal included suggestions such as the introduction of a bicameral parliament, the revival of a caretaker government system, and the recalibration of powers exercised by the preside
nt and prime minister.
