Bogura: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate for Bogura-3 (Adamdighi-Dupchanchia) constituency, Abdul Mohit Talukder, has pledged to build a society free from discrimination by implementing the 31-point plan announced by BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman. Abdul Mohit emphasized that the people of Bogura-3 have endured discrimination over the past decade and a half, leading to limited employment opportunities and stunted development in the area.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Abdul Mohit stated in an interview that the primary goal is the implementation of Tarique Rahman’s 31-point plan to end the division and restore development and peace. He further promised significant developments in infrastructure, including roads, schools, colleges, mosques, madrasas, and temples, if elected.

The BNP candidate highlighted the frustration among young voters in Bogura, who have been discouraged from job opportunities due to their district identity. He expressed confidence that this sentiment would lead to strong electoral support for the BNP’s election symbol, the sheaf of paddy.

Abdul Mohit assured compliance with the electoral code of conduct, noting that strict instructions have been given to party leaders and activists to adhere to all election laws. He emphasized that obeying the law is mandatory for both him and his workers, and that their campaign is being conducted in a disciplined manner.

Regarding the July Charter and the proposed referendum, Abdul Mohit confirmed his party’s clear and positive stance, stating that the party chief has signed the charter and expressed support for a ‘yes’ vote.

Abdul Mohit expressed optimism about the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for February 12, highlighting the peace-loving nature of the people in Adamdighi and Dupchanchia and their commitment to fair elections. He expressed hope for overwhelming support for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol, leading to the prevalence of peace.

The Bogura-3 constituency, comprising Adamdighi and Dupchanchia upazilas, will see four candidates contesting the seat: BNP’s Md. Abdul Mohit Talukder (Sheaf of Paddy), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nur Mohammad (Scale), Jatiya Party’s Md. Shahinul Islam (Plough), and Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Md. Shahjahan Ali Talukder (Hand Gan).

According to the Election Commission, the constituency has a total of 339,181 voters, including 169,831 women, 169,347 men, and three third-gender voters. Voting will take place at 118 polling stations across the constituency.
