BNP Candidate Dr. Mosharraf Wins from Cumilla-1

Dhaka: BNP candidate Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain has been elected unofficially from the Cumilla-1 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election. He secured a total of 1,41,440 votes, outpacing his nearest rival, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Moniruzzaman, who garnered 94,885 votes.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in the recent referendum held within the constituency, a total of 1,71,139 voters cast ‘Yes’ votes, while 1,55,556 individuals opted for ‘No’ votes. This election outcome was officially announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre located at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon, the capital.
