The Bhutanese government is keen to invite Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to attend an international conference on autism scheduled to be held April 19-21 next year.
"Bhutan will send a formal invitation to Bangladesh government soon in this regard," said Bhutanese ambassador to Bangladesh Sonam T Rubgye when he called on Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim at the latter's office here today.
Saima Wazed Hossain, Member of Expert Advisory Panel on Mental Health of the World Health Organization (WHO), has taken initiatives to hold the conference in the Bhutanese capital of Thimphu at the request of the WHO, an official release said.
The WHO, Health Ministries of Bangladesh and Bhutan and Suchona Foundation will jointly organize the conference.
Nasim assured the Bhutanese Ambassador of his ministry's all-out cooperation in organizing the conference.
