Dhaka: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today emphasized that Bangladesh has the potential to transform into a prosperous nation by fully utilizing its talent and resources. Speaking at a press conference held at the BNP central office in Nayapaltan, Rizvi highlighted the vision shared by BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, which underscores the importance of leveraging national assets to achieve prosperity.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rizvi expressed optimism about the aspirations that have emerged among the people following the recent change in power through the July Mass Uprising. He stressed the importance of implementing reality-based programs outlined by the BNP’s Acting Chairman and the potential for Bangladesh to progress by harnessing its own resources and talent.

Criticizing the Awami government, Rizvi accused it of politicizing the entire state, including the judiciary, public administration, and police, which he claims were turned against the populace. He remarked on the political consequences faced by many government members, noting that some have fled the country or are now facing trials.

Rizvi also accused Sheikh Hasina of attempting to subjugate the nation under the Awami ‘Jomidartontro’ or feudal system, asserting that the people of Bangladesh have historically resisted such attempts. He emphasized the resilience of the Bangladeshi people, who have repeatedly demonstrated that they cannot be oppressed or subjugated.

Calling for a new political system, Rizvi advocated for an independent judiciary free from partisan influence and emphasized the need for the rule of law. He warned that a free and fair election is impossible if officials involved in past misdeeds remain in the administration, urging their identification and removal.

Throughout the press conference, Rizvi highlighted the significance of Tarique Rahman’s contemporary speeches, which underscore the need for systemic reforms to achieve the vision of a prosperous Bangladesh.
