RAB Arrests Main Accused in Rangpur Widow Murder Case

Rangpur: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-13 arrested the main accused in the murder case of a widow of Gangachara upazila in Rangpur by poisoning from Nilphamari district on Tuesday night. The arrested was identified as Shree Kamal Chandra Adhikari, 28, son of Shree Manoranjan Chandra Adhikari of village Manaksha under Gangachara model police station of Rangpur, a press release said today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the complaint filed by the plaintiff stated that after the husband of the victim Krishna Rani was killed in a road accident, she was supposed to receive a registry deed of 40 decimals of her husband’s share of land. Consequently, the arrested accused, along with others, skilfully applied poison to the victim’s body through injecting saline and killed her on the night of July 6, 2025.



Later, the victim’s father filed a murder case with Gangachara model police station of Rangpur on July 7, 2025. Based on secret information, the elite force conducted a raid and arrested the main accused Shree Kamal Chandra Adhikari from Paschim Doliram village of Kishoreganj police station in Nilphamari district at 10:05 pm yesterday.



The arrested accused has been handed over to Gangachara model police station for further legal action.
