Awami League general secretary and Road Transport Minister Obaidul Kader today said Bangladesh's independence and existence were interlinked with the survival of the party and urged its leaders and activists to perform keeping the notion in mind.
"Otherwise all our efforts will be proved futile," he told a rally of Awami League leaders and activists at Rajbari-Faridpur crossing on his way to Tungipara in the afternoon.
Quader said since Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina entrusted him with the charge of the party's general secretary, "I assure you, I will leave no stone unturned to keep the hope and aspiration of my leader".
He asked the party leaders and activists to launch preparedness for the next general elections, winning voters' hearts with good behavior and activities.
"Our present government has done enormous development in the country including Faridpur, but if you fail to win the heart of the people all development will go in vain," he said.
The Awami League general secretary also reminded the party leaders and activists about Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's Faridpur links saying, "So you should be extra cautious because of the legacy".
