Dhaka: Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr Shafiqur Rahman extended his congratulations to the Bangladesh national cricket team after their significant win over Pakistan in a Test match held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. In a message posted on Facebook, Dr Rahman expressed his pride by stating, “Well done Bangladesh cricket team.”

According to United News of Bangladesh, the Tigers clinched a 104-run victory against Pakistan in the first Test of the two-match series. This triumph not only marked Bangladesh’s first Test win over Pakistan on home soil but also represented their third consecutive Test victory against Pakistan. The match concluded with Bangladesh setting a challenging target of 268 runs, and on the decisive fifth day, they bowled Pakistan out for 163.

The victory was further highlighted by an exceptional performance from Rana, who became the first pace bowler in Bangladesh’s 26-year Test history to claim five wickets in the fourth innings of a match. His impressive figures of 5-40 played a crucial role in dismantling Pakistan’s batting lineup and ended a 16-year wait for a Bangladeshi seamer to achieve such a feat on home ground.
