Ankara: Bangladesh and Turkiye have expressed their expectations that collaborative efforts will elevate the partnership between the two nations, showcasing a mutual commitment to fostering stronger ties. This sentiment was shared when Foreign Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain and Information and Broadcasting Adviser Mahfuj Alam met with Turkiye’s Foreign Affairs Minister Hakan Fidan at his office in Ankara today, as stated in an official press release.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the primary aim of the meeting was to fortify the bilateral relationship between Turkiye and Bangladesh by addressing outstanding issues and launching new initiatives. The foreign ministry noted that the discussions are poised to yield substantial benefits, marking a significant milestone in the relationship between the two countries.

The meeting underscored that Bangladesh is set to gain access to a wide range of Turkiye’s bilateral cooperation sectors, which are traditionally reserved for Turkiye’s closest allies. This development is heralded as a promising chapter in the diplomatic engagement between the two nations, paving the way for enhanced collaboration, mutual support, and shared growth across different sectors.

Both Advisers attended the three-day Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF) 2025 in Antalya, Turkey, from April 11 to 13. The ADF was organized by the Turkish Foreign Ministry under the theme “Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World,” and held under the patronage of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. This year’s theme emphasizes the critical role of diplomacy in re-establishing itself as a stabilizing force amid growing global divisions.
