Bangladesh and Iraq Seek Enhanced Bilateral Cooperation on UNGA Sidelines

New york: Bangladesh and Iraq have agreed to explore avenues for further strengthening bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including manpower, trade, and connectivity. This understanding emerged during a meeting between Foreign Affairs Adviser of Bangladesh Md. Touhid Hossain and Iraqi Foreign Minister Dr. Fuad Hussein on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) High-Level Week.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the two sides exchanged views on issues of common interest in the multilateral arena during their discussions. The Foreign Adviser reiterated Bangladesh’s commitment to working closely with Iraq to advance peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.



Both sides emphasized the importance of sustained engagement to translate the traditionally friendly relations into more robust economic and people-to-people cooperation.
