Ashik Chowdhury Appointed Chairman of Invest Bangladesh Authority

Dhaka: The government has appointed Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun as Chairman of the Invest Bangladesh Authority under the Prime Minister's Office on a one-year contractual basis. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the announcement came through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration, which was signed by Deputy Secretary Md Golam Rabbani. The notification detailed that Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun will serve as chairman for one year from the date of his joining, as per sub-section (5) of Section 4 of the Invest Bangladesh Act, 2026. The appointment is conditional upon Chowdhury relinquishing any other professional engagements or affiliations with government, semi-government, or private entities. The notification also stated that the specific terms and conditions of his appointment would be finalized through a contractual agreement. The order was issued with the aim of serving the public interest.
