Army Distributes Winter Clothes to Sajek’s Cold-Stricken Residents

Rangamati: The Baghaihat Army Zone took a compassionate step towards aiding the cold-stricken residents of Sajek in Baghaichhari upazila by distributing winter clothes and humanitarian aid. This initiative was aimed at providing relief to over 200 hill and Bengali families, addressing the immediate needs of those struggling in the cold.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the distribution ceremony was led by Lt. Col. Md. Tarekul Imran, PSC, Zone Commander of Baghaihat, who served as the chief guest at the event held at Aditi Public School grounds. The effort was supported by other key figures, including Major Md. Salman Siddique, Deputy Commander of Baghaihat Zone, and local leaders such as Dayadhan Chakma, Ward No. 4 member of 36 Sajek Union. Prominent local businessmen Anwar Hossain and Md. Raihan Hossain, along with Bazar President Nazim Uddin, also attended the event, highlighting the community’s collaborative spirit.



During the ceremony, Lt. Col. Imran underscored the army’s role beyond maintaining law and order, emphasizing their commitment to the socio-economic development and welfare of all communities in the remote mountainous regions. He reiterated the army’s dedication to humanitarian efforts as part of their ongoing mission to serve the nation and its people, assuring that such initiatives will persist in the future.
