Rangpur:The 'Journal of Life and Earth Sciences' was launched by the Faculty of Life and Earth Sciences at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) during a ceremony held in the university's administrative building on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the unveiling event was attended by Vice-chancellor Professor Dr. Md Showkat Ali, who served as the chief guest. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Dr. Mosammat Sifat Rumana, Dean of the Faculty of Life and Earth Sciences, and saw participation from faculty members and researchers from various departments.
During his address, the Vice-chancellor emphasized the importance of expanding research activities across all faculties and departments and ensuring the regular publication of journals. He encouraged researchers to engage in high-quality research maintaining international standards and to organize conferences for connecting with global research networks.
He also highlighted the significant potential for research on the Teesta riverine areas in the Brahmaputra basin, promising full support from the university administration for such initiatives. Professor Dr. Mosammat Sifat Rumana concluded the event by expressing her commitment to accelerating the faculty's research efforts and thanking those in attendance for their support. After the discussions, the journal was officially unveiled by the guests.
