Dhaka:BNP Acting Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi emphasized the unifying teachings of great historical figures during a discussion and lantern festival at the Dharmarajika Buddhist Mahavihara in Basabo. The event was organized to celebrate the Buddhist community's 'Shubho Prabarana Purnima-2026' in the capital.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Rizvi stated that these figures, including Gautama Buddha, did not create divisions among people but instead advocated for universal human welfare by eliminating social class distinctions. He highlighted the importance of following Buddha's teachings to develop morally upright individuals and foster a peaceful society marked by mutual brotherhood and sincerity.

Rizvi further elaborated on the eternal and universal nature of Buddha's teachings, which transcend religious boundaries and are relevant to all humanity. He cited Buddha's acceptance of rice pudding from a woman deemed morally fallen as an example of teaching societal inclusivity and redemption. Rizvi also drew parallels between Buddha's teachings and the Islamic concept of 'Siratal Mustaqim,' underscoring the universal significance of following the right path illuminated by one's inner self.
