Seville:Dhaka State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam is set to embark on an official visit to Spain and the United Kingdom, aiming to deepen economic partnerships and expand cultural cooperation.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister's visit, scheduled for October 26-30, will include meetings with dignitaries to explore cooperation in trade, investment, tourism, skills development, and cultural exchange.
The visit will commence in Seville, Spain, where Shama will inaugurate the third Spain-Bangladesh Expo 2026 on October 26. Organized by the Spain-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SBCCI), the expo, themed "Stronger Partnership, Shared Prosperity," seeks to connect Bangladeshi exporters with Spanish manufacturers, importers, and investors, thereby opening avenues for trade and investment partnerships.
Subsequently, Shama will proceed to the United Kingdom on October 29-30. Her engagements in the UK will be focused on promoting Bangladeshi art and culture, expanding international cultural partnerships, and exploring opportunities to develop Bangladesh's creative economy.
The visit underscores Bangladesh's commitment to advancing economic diplomacy, attracting investment, and strengthening cultural cooperation with European partners.
