Chattogram:Chattogram Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) organized a series of programs today in celebration of World Food Day 2026. The events were spearheaded by the Faculty of Food Science and Technology and featured a variety of activities throughout the day.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the programs included a colorful procession, a cake-cutting ceremony, a food exhibition, a Food Olympiad, e-poster presentations, three-minute presentations, a short play, an award-giving ceremony, and a discussion meeting. The day's activities commenced with a procession on the university campus, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony and food exhibition held in front of the CVASU auditorium.
Participants in the events included university teachers, officials, students, and staff, all under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Yusuf Elahi Chowdhury. Professor Chowdhury also served as the chief guest at the discussion meeting.
Presiding over the meeting was Professor Dr. Shirin Akter, dean of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology. G.M. Faruk Hossain Patwary, the regional controller of food for Chattogram, attended the meeting as a special guest.
