Dengue Outbreak Claims Another Life; Over 1,300 Hospitalized in 24 Hours

Dhaka:One person has died from dengue, and 1,300 individuals were hospitalized within the last 24 hours, up to 800 am today, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this latest fatality raises the death toll from dengue to 295 this year. The newly hospitalized patients include 414 from Dhaka Division, 69 from Mymensingh Division, 318 from Chattogram Division, 274 from Khulna Division, 80 from Rangpur Division, 141 from Barishal Division, and 4 from Sylhet Division.

The report also highlights that a total of 95,451 dengue patients have been hospitalized nationwide this year. In the last 24 hours, 1,172 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, contributing to the total of 89,380 patients who have recuperated from the disease.

Last year, the country reported 102,861 dengue infections and 413 related deaths.
