Dhaka:Prime Minister Tarique Rahman chaired a meeting on Thursday to address issues related to public transport management, road safety, and the disorder in Dhaka's transport system. The meeting took place at the Cabinet Division of the Secretariat in the morning.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the meeting was attended by several key officials, including Road Transport and Bridges Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, and State Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Habibur Rashid. Other notable attendees included the Prime Minister's Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar, Local Government Division Secretary Md Shahidul Hasan, Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority Executive Director Mohammad Mashiur Rahman, Road Transport and Highways Division Secretary Dr. Mohammad Ziaul Haque, and Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mosleh Uddin Ahmed.
The discussions at the meeting focused on various issues affecting the management and safety of public transport in Dhaka, aiming to find solutions to improve the current situation and resolve existing challenges.
